This project started when AT&T notified me they were shutting down their 2G network in Portland and that my current “dumb” phone (a Motofone f3) would no longer work.
So I decided to design and build a high-end dumb phone.
I knew this was in the realm of possibility because I’d seen an MIT Media Lab’s David Mellis publish plans for a DIY cellphone.

Now that I’ve made a working prototype, I’m now refining the aesthetics. More details later.
